Mission Statement
Mythically, the center of one thing leads to the center of everything. I like to think about that when making my work.
I am pulled often in the direction of spheres, round shapes, and spirals, symbolizing things like an atom, a cell, an egg, the womb, the earth, or everything —life itself. My paintings can appear to be pulsating, breating almost. I am then reminded everything around us is alive, even the most inannimate objects.
And the sphere is the still point at the center of it all, of all life, and stillness is at the center of everything, including ourselves. When I paint, I try to paint from this place of stillness.
